From the creative mind behind Icarus: A Storytelling Game About How Great Civilizations Fall comes Spenser Starke’s next project Alice is Missing, a silent role-playing game about the disappearance of Alice Briarwood, a high school junior in the small town of Silent Falls.
Alice is Missing is played live and without verbal communication. Instead of speaking to one another, players send text messages back and forth in a group chat with the other characters, uncovering clues and unraveling the mystery of where Alice is, and who is behind her disappearance.
Hauntingly beautiful, deeply personal, and highly innovative, Alice is Missing puts a strong focus on the emotional engagement between players, immersing them in a tense, dramatic mystery that unfolds organically through the text messages they send to one another.
Once the game begins, players only communicate using their phones, sending text messages to each other as they unearth clues about what happened to Alice.
Powered by simple but unique card mechanics that give everyone equal footing in telling the story, the game is highly collaborative and runs without the need for a GM.
Explores aspects of emotional intimacy and personal connection between characters in a unique and accessible way.
For $20 you can get access to an early copy. Or get in the action earlier by pledging for the Roll20 edition of the game which will deliver shortly after the campaign ends. Click here to back Alice is Missing on Kickstarter.
